Logistics about the Big Day
We are so honored that you are coming to our wedding. Here are some resources to make your trip a little easier
Accommodation
Our official hotel blocks have been closed. Feel free to book on your own at these hotels to still take advantage of the shuttles going from each of these hotels to our Church and later to our reception at the Chevy Chase Club.
Even if you do not choose to stay at either of these hotels, we encourage you to stay in Georgetown to enjoy our favorite neighborhood and be close to all the celebrations.
If you are looking for some other hotels in easy walking distance of the church, we suggest The Georgetown Inn, The Poppy Hotel, or The Georgetown House
The Melrose Hotel
We've reserved a block of rooms at The Melrose Hotel in Foggy Bottom, which is a 20-minute walk to the church and just across the bridge from Georgetown. This hotel is close to the Foggy Bottom metro, making exploring the city easily without a car. This also offers a larger one-bedroom suite option, which is good for people who are traveling in a larger group.

Questions?
-
Will there be transportation?
We will provide transportation from the hotels to Christ Church Georgetown for the ceremony. Then, after the ceremony, we will provide shuttles to the Chevy Chase Club. After dinner starting at 8pm we will have shuttles to take people back to the hotels and to the afterparty at Wingos. Parking in Georgetown is notoriously difficult so we recommend using the shuttles.
-
Is there a dress code?
The dress code is black tie. If your tux has maybe “shrunk while at the dry cleaner,” a dark suit is perfectly acceptable. Please note that the clubhouse requires a coat and time after 6 p.m.
-
Can I bring my Children?
While we love your children, we ask that you leave your little ones at home. For those of you who are traveling from out of town, we recommend White House Nannies or District Sitters
-
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We ask that you refrain from taking photos during our church ceremony and stay present in the moment. However, we welcome you to take photos during the reception!
-
What is there to do in DC?
We have put together a helpful guide here to give you some suggestions as you are planning your trip.
-
What is the schedule of events?
We are working on a comprehensive schedule of events. Please keep checking back to this website for announcements and updates.
-
Will there be an afterparty?
For anyone still standing, we will have a bus to take people to Jack’s favorite bar, Wingos which is located in Glover Park.
-
What happens if I missed the deadline for the hotel blocks?
You are still welcome to stay at the Melrose or the Graham to use the shuttles to the church and back to Georgetown.
If you are looking for some other hotels in easy walking distance of the church, we suggest The Georgetown Inn, The Poppy Hotel, or The Georgetown House. Please note that the Georgetown House is more casual/self catering and is not ADA Accessible.
-
Where can I park?
We are encouraging everyone to use Uber/taxi to the church to take advantage of the shuttles and avoid the parking nightmare that is Georgetown on a Saturday. However, if you choose to drive, we suggest leaving plenty of time to look for street parking (30 minutes), book a spot in advance with SpotHero, or park in one of the Colonial Parking lots. There are no commercial lots close to the church, so prepare to walk.
There is plenty of valet parking at the Chevy Chase Club.
Registry
We have been blessed with so much over the past years. Many of you are traveling globally to celebrate with us in Washington, DC, so your presence means the world to us and is all we ask for. If you'd still like to contribute to our registry, feel free to select from the options below.
Please ignore all Jack’s requests for a jetski…
